The Lunar Module Eagle touched down on the southwestern Mare Tranquillitatis after Armstrong took manual control through repeated guidance-computer program alarms to fly beyond a boulder-strewn crater. LROC imaging later fixed the descent stage at 0.67408° N, 23.47297° E.
