LCROSS results published: water measured in the Cabeus ejecta plume

2010-10-22 · Recorded · space

The source states this happened, and its date is not in the future. The word the source used for it is historical.

Colaprete and colleagues reported in Science that the ejecta plume contained water at 5.6 ± 2.9 per cent by mass, together with a suite of other volatiles. It was the first direct measurement of water inside a lunar cold trap and the empirical basis for treating the poles as a resource destination.
