Four months after its twin, Voyager 2 passed through the Jupiter system on the trajectory that would take it to Saturn and, if the spacecraft survived, beyond. The four-month interval between the two encounters turned a snapshot into a time series: the same storms, the same volcanic surfaces and the same magnetospheric structures were observed twice with a known separation.
