The JMP reports flat urban water coverage

WHO and UNICEF published the Joint Monitoring Programme update for 2000–2024. Global safely managed drinking water rose from 68 to 74 per cent between 2015 and 2024 while the urban share stayed at about 83 per cent — cities connected enormous numbers of people and stood still in percentage terms, because the denominator grew as fast as the service.
