The International Decade of Indigenous Languages

The United Nations designated the period 2022 to 2032 an International Decade of Indigenous Languages, with UNESCO as lead agency, following the International Year of Indigenous Languages in 2019. It is a declared programme of documentation, revitalisation and policy support rather than a prediction of any outcome, and it is recorded here as a plan with a stated end date. Its results as of August 2026 could not be assessed in this session.

Planned — a programme target or declared plan, from a source that declared it. Never a prediction.
