The Non-Proliferation Treaty enters into force

With the required ratifications deposited, the treaty took effect, and the safeguards system administered by the International Atomic Energy Agency began to be negotiated state by state. India, Israel and Pakistan did not join and subsequently developed weapons outside the regime; the treaty was extended indefinitely by its parties in 1995.

Historical — it happened, and the record is settled.
