Xuanzang travels to India and back
node
The monk leaves Chang'an in defiance of an imperial travel ban, crosses the Tarim oases and Central Asia to India, studies at Nalanda, and returns sixteen years later with 657 Sanskrit texts. His return route crosses the Pamir. The account he compiles in 646 remains a principal source for the geography and religious life of the corridor.
A node is not a place. Drawing it on a map would assert something about the world that no stored fact supports.
