James Cameron descends alone in DEEPSEA CHALLENGER, the first human return to the bottom since 1960. Pressure-derived depths from the dive and its accompanying landers - about 10,908 +/- 3 m and about 10,918 +/- 3 m - come in far shallower than the 2010 acoustic maximum.
