Revised depth of the Challenger Deep from submersible transects; including a general method for precise, pressure-derived depths in the ocean

Submersible transects conducted in June 2020 yield a revised Challenger Deep floor depth of 10,935 m (+/- 6 m at 95 percent confidence) below mean sea level. Earlier direct measurements include DEEPSEA CHALLENGER at 10,908 +/- 3 m and its landers at 10,918 +/- 3 m (2012).
