Marco Polo's journey to Asia and back

The Polos leave Venice in 1271, travel overland to the court of Kublai Khan, and return by sea via Southeast Asia, India and Hormuz in 1295. The resulting account, dictated around 1298, is one of very few claiming the whole length of the route and became Europe's principal image of Asia.
