NIF repeats target gain and raises the yield to 3.88 MJ
node
A NIF shot using 2.05 MJ of laser energy produced 3.88 MJ of fusion yield, then the highest yield achieved at the facility. It was one of three experiments in 2023 that achieved target gain greater than one, establishing that the December 2022 result was repeatable rather than a single fortunate shot. Repeatability is a physics milestone; it says nothing about facility power balance, which was unchanged.
A node is not a place. Drawing it on a map would assert something about the world that no stored fact supports.
