Supports the finding that urban built-up area has grown faster than urban population across a global sample of cities, so average densities fall as cities grow. V55 verification basis: retrieved from Lincoln Institute and Marron Institute summaries of the Atlas; the volumes and the city-level dataset were not opened, and no single global rate of density decline is asserted from it.
