Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database (SlaveVoyages)

evidence

Voyage-level estimates of the number of captives embarked in Africa and disembarked in the Americas, by period and region, assembled from ship registers, insurance records and customs returns. V55 verification basis: NOT consulted in this session — slavevoyages.org was probed and refused by the egress proxy. The figures quoted in this pack (roughly 12.5 million embarked, roughly 10.7 million disembarked) are from the author's knowledge of the database. IT IS REVISED CONTINUOUSLY, so a curator must take current figures directly from the site rather than from this record.

A evidence is not a place. Drawing it on a map would assert something about the world that no stored fact supports.
