The peak of parliamentary enclosure
node
The great majority of English enclosure Acts were passed in this period, redrawing the field boundaries of thousands of parishes and extinguishing common rights over pasture, gleaning, fuel and waste. Whether it raised agricultural productivity is disputed; that it converted customary occupiers into wage labourers, some of whom moved to the towns, is not.
A node is not a place. Drawing it on a map would assert something about the world that no stored fact supports.
