TransMilenio opens in Bogotá

Bogotá opened a high-capacity bus rapid transit network on the Curitiba model, at metropolitan scale and with far higher corridor throughput. Its visibility is what carried BRT into planning practice worldwide, and Latin America still accounts for the largest share of global BRT ridership.
