Revised depth of the Challenger Deep published

node

Stewart and Jamieson publish the submersible-transect revision in Deep-Sea Research Part I, together with a general method for deriving precise depths from pressure. It is currently among the best-constrained estimates - and it still does not close the question, because the acoustic and pressure families of measurement have not been reconciled.

A node is not a place. Drawing it on a map would assert something about the world that no stored fact supports.
