TAT-8 is lifted from the seabed

node

Recovery began of the world's first transoceanic fibre cable, out of service since 2002 and on the bottom for some thirty-seven years. The operation closes the loop this Journey opens with: a cable is not an abstraction but an object that is manufactured, loaded into a ship, laid, powered, broken, abandoned and eventually hauled back up. The state of the operation as of August 2026 is not established in this pack.

A node is not a place. Drawing it on a map would assert something about the world that no stored fact supports.
