Saudi Arabia announced The Line within NEOM: a linear city briefed at 170 kilometres long and 200 metres wide, car-free, with a target in the order of a million and a half residents by 2030. The announcement, and its renderings, became the decade's dominant image of a future city.

A node is not a place. Drawing it on a map would assert something about the world that no stored fact supports.
