node · earth
The voyage's destination. Titanic was booked into White Star's Pier 59 on the Hudson for the morning of 17 April 1912 and never arrived. On the night of 18 April the Carpathia stopped first at Pier 59 to put off Titanic's thirteen recovered lifeboats, then berthed at Cunard's Pier 54 to land the survivors before a crowd estimated in the tens of thousands. The US Senate inquiry opened in the city the following morning.
