Great Pyramid of Giza (Pyramid of Khufu)

The tomb built for the Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khufu on the Giza plateau, and the only one of the seven ancient wonders still standing. It rose originally to about 146.6 m and now stands at roughly 138.5 m, the loss being the stripped outer casing and the eroded apex. It is by far the oldest entry on the ancient list, older than the other six by roughly two thousand years. In 2007 it was removed from the New7Wonders ballot at Egypt's insistence and given the invented status of Honorary Candidate.
