Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39A

The Apollo lunar launch pad, on Merritt Island, Florida. Built for the Saturn V and first used by the uncrewed Apollo 4 in November 1967, it launched every crewed Apollo lunar mission except Apollo 10 — including Apollo 8, 11, 13 and 17 — and then the Skylab workshop. Converted for the Space Shuttle, it hosted STS-1 in 1981 and most Shuttle flights thereafter. NASA leased the pad to SpaceX in 2014; since 2017 it has flown Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy and Crew Dragon. Artemis does not launch from 39A.
