Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

node · earth

Chamonix is a mountaineering town at the foot of Mont Blanc in Haute-Savoie, whose skiing is spread across several separate areas such as Grands Montets, Brévent and Flégère rather than one linked domain. The core season runs mid-December to mid-April, but Grands Montets opens at the end of November and closes last in early May. Serious off-piste, glacier descents and the Aiguille du Midi cable car make it a byword for expert and adventurous skiing. The season typically runs mid-December to mid-April at the core, with some sectors open from late November into early May; opening dates, snow and lift status are confirmed only with the resort.
