Senolytics reach human patients for the first time
Two small open-label studies report the first human administration of dasatinib plus quercetin — in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, where fourteen patients showed improved walking distance and gait speed without change in pulmonary function, and in diabetic kidney disease, where adipose-tissue senescent cell burden fell. Neither had a control arm. Both were designed to test feasibility and target engagement, and neither can support a claim of benefit.
