Zambezi River

The fourth-longest river in Africa, rising in north-western Zambia and reaching the Indian Ocean through Mozambique, and one of the two river systems that define KAZA's geography. The Zambezi is simultaneously the axis of wildlife movement, the international boundary between several KAZA states, the site of Victoria Falls and its tourism economy, and the region's principal irrigation and hydropower resource. Every function competes with the others: the same floodplain that carries dispersal is the most farmable land in the corridor.
