Five states sign the KAZA Transfrontier Conservation Area treaty

Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe signed the treaty establishing the Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, committing to joint management of a landscape linking national parks, game management areas, forest reserves and community land across five sovereign jurisdictions. KAZA is the institutional expression of the finding that dispersal between reserves, not conditions inside any one of them, determines large-mammal outcomes.
